Bocca Restaurant: Funky Sophistication

Located near the exit for the Marques de Pombal metro station, the Bocca Restaurant is one of the more surprising entries of late in the restaurant Lisbon scene.

Multi-level, it presents two faces to the world: a sophisticated gourmet restaurant on the upper level, and a trendy tapas-style gastro-bar on the lower level, mixing cocktails, wine and fine dining for all.

The interior of Bocca restaurant is done up with a host of earthy tones, from forest green to urban browns and grays, against a backdrop of virginal and trendy white.

This bar-hotspot-restaurant brings the tasty heritage of good Portuguese food into the 21st century, with twists that are guaranteed to create a whole new generation of foodies, that want their taste buds constantly challenged and will not settle for less.

Unlike most entries in the restaurant Lisbon scene, Bocca restaurant offers its wine list by the glass, allowing patrons to sample the trendy wines, while reserving their favorites to accompany their meals.

The menu is reasonably affordable, and you will be able to taste delicacies as the foie gras in a terrine with dried figs or a triggerfish fillet with clam stew and rice.

The signature dish of the upper establishment is roasted quail with sesames, and both levels offer desserts to die for, like a dark chocolate coulant with ginja d’Obidos sorbet, cool, tasty and hot.
